A No, this would damage the sound module.

Q How can we replace the batteries and turn the Knee-Riders sound on and off?
A The sound module for the Knee-Rider's realistic toy pony noises is located in the cushion compartment just under the neck of the Knee-Rider (*See Picture of battery pack and on/off switch). Open the small slit to find the hidden compartment with a Velcro closure. Located inside this compartment is the battery case with the on/off switch. For sound, make sure the switch is in the "on" position.

Q Are Knee-Riders safe for all ages?
A As you know, all toddlers are different. This is really up to the adult. Although we at Danoco are comfortable in saying that the Knee-Riders are safe for children ages 6 months and older.

Q Are there any hard materials under the fabric or inside the Knee-Rider?
A No, the Knee-Rider is a plush toy pony that has a battery case that is tucked safely inside the pony's neck.

Q Who actually invented the Knee-Rider, because we've heard more than one claim?
A The Knee-Rider concept was invented in the 1950's, maybe even earlier! Those were made of wood, metal and the like. Dan Olson was the first to invent a soft cuddly plush Knee-Rider in 1974. Please review our company info page included in this website for more details.
